Eric Robinson is a native of Neenah, Wisconsin who has now resided in New York City for over 10 years.
After pursuing interests in theatre and improvisation as a teenager, Eric joined the internationally touring cast of Up With People’s production of ROADS, where he traveled to over 70 cities across North America and Europe.
Shortly after his return, he moved to New York City where he attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. After completing the conservatory program at AMDA, he immediately entered the performance industry, appearing in plays and musicals at regional theatres across the country.
It was at one such theater (Theatre Three in Pt. Jefferson, NY) that he met his future business partner, Jay Painter. Together, Eric and Jay created Friday Night Face Off!, which has since become the longest running and most successful weekly improv comedy show in Long Island history (in it’s 9th year at the time of this copy).
After moving on from Theatre Three, Eric continued his involvement with FNFO while working as an actor, singer and director in dozens of professional productions across America, including working as principal singer on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has directed for the Janesville Armory Dinner Theatre, The University of Wisconsin Fox Valley, Pathways, and The Theatrix Theatre Academy.
In July of 2009, Eric and Jay formed Face Off Unlimited LLC. He is now co-founder of Face Off University at The Secret Theatre in Queens, New York, and co-creator and performer in Face Off’s productions of “A Whole ‘Nother Level”, currently touring colleges across the country, and BATSU!, performing weekly in New York’s East Village.
In 2009 and 2010 he worked as a content producer for DVD*TV and Live Laughs, co-producing the Telly award-winning commercial “Don’t Get Caught” for DFDesigns.
Additionally, Eric is a certified skydiver, has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, and is an avid reader.
